Saint John's School

SAINT JOHN’S SCHOOL is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of the Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 750 students from pre pre-kinder to grade twelve. Eighty-three percent are local, ten percent are from the continental United States, and seven percent come from different parts of the world. Instruction is in English with the exception of Spanish, French, Italian and Mandarin classes. Technology is widely used in the classroom through instructional tools such as laptops (required in grades seven to twelve), iPads and smart boards. The school is separated into three divisions: early childhood program (pre pre-kinder to first grade), upper elementary (second through sixth grade), and secondary school (seventh through twelfth grade).
In an environment that blends traditional with modern educational practices, Saint John’s aims to develop the intellect, spirit, and creativity of every student. The school believes in the intrinsic capacity of each student to develop self-control and self-direction, and it fosters the emergence of leadership qualities, analytical ability, respect for tradition and human reason, development of a sound and responsible value system, and an appreciation of life.
